The 28th London Battalion (Artist’s Rifles) arrived in France on 28th October, 1914 where they became an Officers Training Corps based at Bailleul. On 11th December, 1914 half of the battalion were digging trenches near Bailluel while the other half were undergoing training and there is no mention in the battalion diary of the death of Glenrowan Rawlins who was killed on that day. It is possible that he was temporarily attached to another unit or he may have been hit by long range artillery. |
